April 2025 Construction Updates

Recent Activities:

• Aghadowey Avenue has been constructed to its final configuration.

• All asbestos abatement and demolition has been completed.

• Installation of drainage has begun on Old Rum Trail and Madden Road.

• Drilling for the bridge drilled shafts has begun at the western abutment.

• Construction of a stormwater basin off the east side of High Street is underway with excavation to subgrade and outer slopes being completed in the last week of March.

• All trees east of the car wash have been cut and stumps are being removed.

Upcoming Activities:

• Continuing stump removal between the car wash and Franklin Street.

• Drilled shaft work at the Shields Brook bridge western abutment will continue and move to the eastern abutment when complete.

• Installation of Utility Poles is anticipated to start in April.

• Building out of an entire a stormwater basin off the east side of High Street is expected this month.

• Installation of drainage along Old Rum Trail will continue.

• Area between Franklin Street and the carwash will be excavated to subgrade as needed.

March 2025 Construction Updates

Recent Activities:

• Blasting on the Western end of the project is on hold until a utility pole can be relocated.

• Sheeting has been installed along North High Street to facilitate installation of the western abutment drilled shafts.

• Sheeting for the first phase of the stream diversion along the eastern abutment was installed.

• Drilled shaft reinforcing was delivered to the jobsite.

• Perimeter controls have been installed around stockpiles and along the edges of the work area and stream area per the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan.

Upcoming Activities:

• Continuing tree cutting/clearing opportunities with Department approval.

• Demolition of the structures on Parcels 62 and 63 will begin with asbestos removal starting the week of March 10th.

• Construction of access to future western abutment.

• Drilled shaft work at the Shields Brook bridge western abutment is anticipated to start in late March.

• Installation of Utility Poles is anticipated to start in April.

• Clearing of future North High Street area.

February 2025 Construction Updates

Recent Activities:

• Blasting commenced along Old Rum Trail, near Madden Road.

• Clearing along the Eastern shore of Shields Brook has taken place.

• Excavation of overburden to expose the rock along Madden Road and Aghadowey Ave has taken place with blasting beginning along those areas starting January 24th.

• Excavation from Old Rum Trail, just West of High Street, has occurred with embankment being placed near the intersection of Folsom Road and High Street.

• Perimeter controls have been installed around stockpiles and along the edges of the work area and stream area per the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan.

• Trees are marked for individual tree cuts throughout the job.

Upcoming Activities:

• Continuing tree cutting/clearing opportunities with Department approval.

• The initial phases of the stream diversion plan have been approved and work will begin with setting sandbags to protect the northern corner of the western abutment to begin drilled shaft work.

• Demolition of the structures on Parcels 62 and 63 will begin with asbestos removal starting the week of February 17th.

• Construction of access to future abutment A.

• Start of drilling for drilled shafts at the Shields Brook bridge, abutment A.

• Installation of Utility Poles is anticipated to start in March.

• Clearing of future North High Street area.
